About Me
Modestly Authentic: A Lifestyle Rooted in Truth
I'm Brenna, the founder and creator of Modestly Authentic. I'm a friend, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a lifelong learner, and someone who has always been curious about what makes us who we are. My journey toward healing and self-discovery began midway through my marriage, during a season when I realized that understanding myself was just as important as trying to understand the people around me.
When marriage counseling wasn't bringing the changes I had hoped for, my mom stepped in with self-help books that opened a new door for me. Those books encouraged me to look inward, question old patterns, and explore the ways our experiences shape how we think, feel, and relate to others. What began as an attempt to navigate a difficult season gradually became a deeper commitment to personal growth.
Our blended family of seven children has been a significant part of that journey. Raising a family comes with so much love, responsibility, and opportunity for growth. I want to be intentional about the person I am becoming, not only for myself but also for my children. I want to keep learning, recognize my own patterns, and create a home where honesty, compassion, and growth have room to flourish.
A Curious Mind and a Faithful Heart
I've always loved learning, researching, and exploring ideas that help me better understand myself and the world around me. I am an open-minded old soul. My interests span holistic wellness, psychology, human behavior, nature, creativity, and the many ways we seek meaning in our lives.
I believe we are created by a loving Heavenly Father with purpose, and I find meaning in remembering that we come from the dust of the earth and are part of His creation. My faith in Christ is at the heart of who I am. Nature continually reminds me of the beauty, complexity, and interconnectedness of the world He made.
Recently, conversations with my sister have also encouraged me to explore the sun, moon, and stars as another lens through which to reflect on personality, emotions, and the different dimensions of being human. I've become interested in how people use these symbols to understand themselves and their experiences. I approach that curiosity as an opportunity for reflection, while keeping my faith in Christ at the center of my life.
For me, learning is not about finding one explanation for everything. It's about asking thoughtful questions, remaining open to new perspectives, and discerning what aligns with my values and beliefs.
Why Earth and Water?
Earth and water have become meaningful symbols in my understanding of growth and healing.
Earth represents grounding. It reminds me to stay rooted in my faith, remain connected to my values, and build a life that reflects what matters most.
Water represents flow. It reminds me that emotions deserve attention, change is part of life, and growth often requires us to release old ways of thinking and make room for something new.
Together, earth and water reflect the balance I continue to seek: being grounded in my faith while remaining willing to learn, adapt, and grow.
What Inspires Modestly Authentic
Modestly Authentic grew out of my desire to bring together the things that have become meaningful throughout my journey: intentional living, holistic wellness, personal style, music, art, and self-discovery.
I believe authenticity means being willing to acknowledge where we are, even when we are still figuring things out. It means making choices that reflect our values rather than simply meeting other people's expectations. It also means recognizing that growth is rarely a straight line.
Through this space, I share the things I explore, the knowledge I gather, the creativity that inspires me, and the lessons I'm learning along the way.
Here, you'll find wellness inspiration, soul-inspired apparel, music, art, and honest reflections on what it means to live with greater intention. My hope is to create a space where curiosity is welcomed, creativity has room to grow, and people feel encouraged to explore their own paths.
I'm not here because I have everything figured out. I'm here because I believe there is value in continuing to learn, asking better questions, and becoming more intentional about the life we build.
Modestly Authentic is a reflection of that ongoing journey: rooted in faith, inspired by nature, shaped by experience, and expressed through creativity.
With love and intention,
Brenna
